HOW IT WORKS
Cystine is a non-essential amino acid, a fundamental constituent of Keratin, a protein that makes up hair, hair and nails.
Serenoa Repens , together with Vitamin B6 and Zinc , manages to inhibit 5-alpha-reductase, the enzyme responsible for hair loss.
5-alpha-reductase is the enzyme responsible for converting testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). If present in excess, DHT can cause androgenetic alopecia , seborrhea , acne and prostatic hypertrophy .
Methionine is considered a fortifying agent of hair and nails; the structural effect would be attributable to the ability of methionine to form sulfur chains linked to each other and, from some studies, it seems that its intake can accelerate its growth.
Biotin , or Vitamin B8 or Vitamin H , is indicated for the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis, alopecia and acne thanks to its ability to preserve the integrity of the skin and hair.
Astaxanthin, Selenium and Vitamin E , thanks to their antioxidant properties, act synergistically to protect cell membranes from attack by free radicals.
Astaxanthin is also able to counteract the appearance of white hair.
